Grand Prairie Roll-Over Crash Kills 13 year old Arlington, Texas Girl
On Friday night, 13 year old eighth grader Kelsee Williams died in a tragic rollover accident which occurred near the Grande Prairie – Mansfield border of Texas 360. According to police interviews, Ms. Williams was in the back seat of a Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 16 year old from Arlington. Apparently, Ms. Williams leaned forward to change the radio station on the steering wheel. The 2004 Suburban had radio station controls built in on the steering wheel. The driver of the vehicle then lost control and the automobile moved to the left side of the highway where it then rolled.
I feel very bad for the family of the young Ms. Williams and my thoughts and prayers go out to them in this time of grieving. I am sure that many of Kelsee’s friends at Gunn Junior High School in Arlington are grieving as well. Certainly, she did not mean to do anything to cause an accident. Also, I feel bad for the 16 year old driver. Even though no one knows exactly what happened except for the four teens inside of the vehicle, and my thoughts are only speculation, I have to think that the driver probably did nothing wrong to prevent the rollover.
This tragic accident certainly could have been prevented and hopefully will serve as a reminder to all of the responsibilities we all have as drivers and passengers in a moving vehicle. First of all, no one should have touched the steering wheel except for the driver, as any attempt by anyone else might interfere with the driver's ability to control the vehicle. Secondly, according to police investigators, no one was wearing their seat belts in the car (there were two other teen passengers in the vehicle). It is a law in the State of Texas that all front and back seat passengers wear their seat belts. Quite possibly, if Ms. Williams had been wearing her seat belt, she would not have been able to lean forward to attempt to touch the steering wheel and also the seat belt might have saved her life during the rollover crash.

Is it against the law for a 16yr old to be driving minors?

I feel so sorry for Kaleb, Kelsee's brother, and their family. I have gone through school with Kaleb. It was shocking when I found out today. I didn't know. She was such a beautiful, fun, and outgoing girl. Her funeral will be this Wednesday. Sadly I won't be going, but a majority of AHS and Gunn will not be in school because of her funeral. Even though I didn't know her well, I knew who she was and saw her grow up from a little kid to her teen years. I will keep her in my prayers and pray that her family keeps good strength. We will all miss her dearly. May you Rest In Peace Kelsee Williams. :(

I went to school with kelsee . And i had Classes with her . That friday on october 15 th i talked to her, and she was so excited for her plans that night. Everyone who is saying it is Kelsee's fault is really rude. It wasn't anyones fault. It was a accident, Ive met Kelsee's mother and she is really nice and she talks about Kelsee all the time. You people need who blame it on Kelsee need to stop. She was one of the most funniest, popular, prettiest girls at gunn. We all miss her so much. Gunn isnt the same without her. WE MISS YOU KELSEE. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH <3
