Rock Hauler Crushes Mother of Three in Euless, Texas
The woman who was killed yesterday in Euless has been identified as 40-year-old Debbie Kaye of Hurst, Texas. Kaye was driving on Industrial Boulevard when a big rig crashed into her car from the service road of Airport Freeway. She had a green light. The truck did not. The rock hauler that rolled onto and crushed her car was carrying 80,000 pounds of sand. Investigators now say there may have been a problem with the rig’s brakes, which caused the 46-year-old driver to hit Kaye’s car, but the accident investigation is still pending. The 18-wheeler was carrying a 36-year-old female passenger and reports say both riders were taken to nearby Texas Health H-E-B Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Kaye’s best friend has come forward to say that she was talking with Kaye on her cell phone in the moments before her car was crushed. They were talking and all of a sudden, her friend heard a loud noise and then the phone went dead. Kaye was on her way to meet her boyfriend for lunch at 11:30. He knew something was wrong when she didn’t show and his doubts were confirmed when police met him at Kaye’s home moments later.
Kaye was the mother of three children, ages 19, 14 and 9.
Unfortunately, Ms. Kaye was in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was no way she could have prevented this tragic accident. Truck accidents involving 18-wheelers and big rigs—especially when they collide with smaller cars, are some of the most severe and life-altering wrecks due to the severity of bodily injuries they cause.
